GoPro Video Feature + Band Photoshoot + 1223 Lacrosse

One of my GoPro lacrosse videos (Indoor 2012) was recently featured and used in a cool POV video by TalkSportMagazine. This is significant, one because I like when other people enjoy my videos and ask to use them, and two, TalkSportsMagazine has about 160,000 subscribers on youtube. Although I thought they could have used some better scenes from my video, I was overall satisfied with their video and feel honored to have them used it. Watch it below!

On top of all of this...

I did a photoshoot for Johnny's band the other day in Chicago. My first official photoshoot, it went pretty well, but I realized I need to take more initiative and be more of a "director" as well, which can be difficult with people you do not know. His band and I had a fun time, and we got some decent shots which I was able to do a quick few edits. Here is one them. Also I was given the privilege to listen to them play a little and also heard a few of their demos, the music is flat out quality. I am pumped for them to release an official EP.

I have also began to edit some videos for 1223 Lacrosse where I am currently giving small group and private lessons. This new indoor facility is something that I have dreamed about being able to utilize and I am lucky enough to have my good friend Gio get me involved in this exclusively lacrosse facility on the north side of Naperville. The videos will include features on Power Shafts & StringKing mesh. My first "professional" video experience. Again, I need to continue to better myself at being more of a leader and director behind the camera. I often go off of others ideas, but it is time I start making the calls and giving out orders.

Life has been pretty busy, along with Rachel moving to the city! I will be down there a lot more now and she is living in an excellent location, Old Town. We were able to make some dinner and then go to a comedy show @ Second City last Friday. The show, A Clown Car Named Desire, was hilarious and really had me laughing. While I was down there we also began to watch the series "Breaking Bad." So far almost through season one, Rachel and I are hooked and loving it. Walter White doing work. With more time in Chicago, I am excited to do more in the city, exploring it, and taking more pictures and videos.

Lacrosse World Recognition

The more and more videos I make, the more and more recognition and publicity I get.

The most recent is a post on Lacrosseplayground.com about the GoPro Video I made from the Brewtown Showdown this year. The Apaches took the title as we know from my previous Champions post. The link to the article can be seen here:

Lacrosse Playground Apaches Brewtown

My Luta Lax 3 Video has also broken into the spotlight. It was shared by Lacrosse.com on their facebook page, as well as Laxallstars.com in their trick stick spotlight section. Squid and I doing work and getting the recognition.

Lacrosse.com shared our link, saying, "Brother and sister doing their thing"  This post then was shared by 3 others.

Some kind person saw our video and posted it to Lacrosseallstars Facebook page, calling it a "beauty"

LacrosseAllStars then sent out the link to our video in their email blast under a stick trick section, calling it their favorite, and saying "it wowed some of the members"

As I continue to edit, and continue to play, I continue to see why I love the sport of Lacrosse.

Champions

What do the Chicago Blackhawks & the Naperville Apaches have in common?? Besides being both ridiculously good looking, they both are champions.

The Blackhawks became Stanley Cup Champions for the 2nd time in 4 years on Monday night, scoring 2 goals in 17 seconds in the final 1:16 of game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Apaches were crowned Brewtown Showdown Champions of the men's division this past weekend, after defeating the other top 3 teams on Sunday all in a row. After stomping on all the teams they played in the first day, the Apaches continued this trend and walked all over the dragonfish from Michigan. Then in the semifinal, they took on a tough Stark Enterprise team composed of mostly d1 & d3 commits from the Milwaukee area. After an intense game that was non stop action, the Apaches met Coyote Logistics in the final for the 2nd straight year. A back and forth start, that was followed by a Naperville Apache streak to end the game, gave the Apaches their second straight Men's Division Brewtown Showdown championship.

A fun filled weekend with lots of lacrosse, drinking, and candy. My gopro was checked off my head for the first time, and despite having the gopro knocked off, and then it running out of battery before my goal in the championship, just before halftime, it was an awesome and successful weekend.

Go Hawks, Go Apaches.

Oh and LaxAllStars just featured my From Camera to Camera video which splices GoPro footage from my camera and from that of the Badgers goalie in the fall. I was lucky enough to play him again this weekend in Brewtown, hoping to trade footage again and make another one!

Here is what they had to say about my video.

"While ONE of the Wisconsin Badgers teams have made the move to the MCLA, they still are big enough to have two GLLL teams as well. Recently our buddy Josh sent over this video in our tipline, we absolutely loved it!

An Attackman from the Naperville Apaches and the Goalie from the Wisconsin Badgers both had GoPro’s in a game against each other this spring. When they finally exchanged footage, this was the result. Nice work gentlemen!

This footage really gives a great view of the game from different perspectives and multiple angles."
