On Wednesday September 21st 2016 I worked until 8p, got home around 9. Rachel made us dinner with some squash and other goodies. My stomach was in extreme pain after, not because the food wasn't good, it was trust me, but I think because of eating too much fiber. We are trying to eat healthy and my fiber intake has increased significantly. While we ate dinner we watched Mr Robot season 2 Episode 11. After dinner while laying in bed in pain I watched Stranger Things Episode 1. Oh it has also been 10 years since I started uploading videos to YouTube.
Thursday September 22nd involved me heading to my parents after work where I was gifted a couple of Bday presents from them. A sweet new camera bag (since I've traveled all over with theirs) and a gorilla pod (for the same reasons). Thanks mom and dad! I did some laundry, cheated on my healthy diet by drinking 2 beers, watched Stranger Things Episode 2 and then slept. Solid night alone. Oh, I forgot to mention I won this baller cooler from Grizzly. This thing is valued at around $339.99 and will keep your drinks cold for like a week or something. Thanks Mom!
Song of the Week in Honor of Beth, her favorite musician (& probably person) oh, not to mention this month which has zoomed by and her Bday! Celebrate.
The next day, Friday September 23rd started with a big 10 DVD loot at the library, including a 4 pack of Lethal Weapons. For lunch I stopped at Olive Garden right as it opened, only to be beat by a couple of groups of elderly folk, where I picked up a chicken and gnocchi soup. For dinner, I had a slice of pizza at my parents where I ended up finishing the stats for the Cats from the 2016 season. Better late than never. Check out our season stats here.
On Saturday September 24th I started the morning by coaching some kids, then drove up to Madison with some of the boys to play in a lacrosse game. Probably the first time playing since Summer of 2015 in anything serious, but it felt good to get out again. We played a University of Wisconsin team and won by something like 15-4. I had 2 goals and 1 assist to start the game off, then had a little scoring drought, but ended up with 2 goals and 5 assists. Not bad, but I wanted that hatty! We got Culver's for dinner on our way back and actually timed it really well. I had just gotten back, drove to the train station and picked Rachel up right as she pulled in. Back at my parents we had a couple of drinks while hanging with the family. Night night.
Sunday the 25th of September started with a drive down to Kankakee to see Grandpa. After a nice lunch visit, we stopped at my Aunt and Uncle's for a party where I gobbled up 2 burgers and 2 hot dogs. Oh man, this diet is not going well. We showed off some of our Iceland trip photos (blog coming soon maybe) and then headed back to the city where we watched the Bears play terribly. Beth and Grace tagged along and slept over that night.
Monday September 26th started with work, an oil change and ended with whole grain pasta with some delicious sauce, the first presidential debate, and the Mr Robot Season 2 series finale. The debate was sad and terrible for many reasons, and I won't go super in to it, but it was like watching a couple of children argue back and forth on why one was better than the other. I honestly don't know if any points about what they will do for the country were made. Great Presidential Election to get involved in! Oh, I also hit 120K miles on the car driving home. Celebrate.
Happy Birthday Squid! Tuesday the 27th of September is my sister's bday. I started the morning by watching the first 2 episodes of American Horror Story Season 6 - My Roanoke Nightmare and was impressed. After being bored by the last season, I had stopped watching halfway through, this season looks to be a good one! I again broke my healthy diet by getting a Wendy's chicken sandwich for lunch, but hey, still no McDonald's! So this was a big day in history as I officially registered to vote, not at age 18 like most, but at age 27. So, I missed the last 2 elections, 08 and 12, but I made it now... for possibly the worst election ever? I really don't like either candidate like most of America. It seems to be an election where people will be voting for the person who isn't the worst. Yikes. That night I slept at my parents and started to edit a video on FCP. This may be my new editing system. The more that I think about the election, the debates, and the candidates, I realize I registered to vote in possibly the worst presidentail election ever. Does anyone know one that was worse? It was National Voter Registration Day after all though, so we out here!
On Wednesday September 28th I worked and then examined the new external hard drive that came to work for me. Wow these puppies are small now. 1 TB of info in a 2 inch by 3 inch little square that doesn't even need external power. Really beats my 500 GB 6inch by 6inch drive with cooling system that I've been carrying around that also needs to be plugged into the wall. Technology. That night Rachel and I enjoyed Pequods pizza, my first time having it! A long wait to indulge in such a fantastic joint, but pretty tasty, reminding me of an extra saucy thick crust Jet's pizza. We also packed for the big weekend ahead. Stay tuned.
