On Thursday November 10th, 2016 I backed up my computer, worked, and then had some pasta for dinner. Nothing too crazy.
The next day was Veteran's Day, Friday November 11th. I watched Alien v Predator and Alien v Predator Requiem on my day home from work. I also watch an episode of AHS season 6. I also went on a quick 5 mile run, which I did at a 6 minute 50 second pace. Not too shabby. After showering, I headed out to Whole Foods to meet up with Brian, Meghan, Chuck, & Julie for a wine tasting around 6pm. Brian has invited to me these repeatedly over the last year, but until this day I was never able to make it out to one. It is a pretty cool event where you get 5 about 1/3 glasses of wine for $6 as you walk around whole foods from station to station, drinking wine and trying out food pairings. Right after we finished at the last station, Adam arrived. He literally drove 6 hours straight from Ohio without stopping. Dedication. After the event ended around 9ish we all piled into Adam's car and drove the short 3/4 mile over to our place. We luckily found street parking right away, then headed to Del Seoul for dinner. I got some fries since I had eaten the pasta only a little bit ago. Second time to Del Seoul in just a few short weeks (last time was the great photo swap). Once we had our food we went up to our place where Rachel was patiently waiting for us. For the next few hours, the boys played Mario Kart, while the girls gossiped about the latest problems with America from the past week. It was fun hanging out with friends on that evening. Oh also Sarah and Colin got a puppy! Haven't formally met this lad yet, but I am sure a video or two will be made.
The next day was Friendsgiving and move in day for my little sister! Saturday November 12th began with me going to work, then heading back to Chicago. The weather is still beautiful enough to be practicing outside, global warming what up. For lunch I headed to McDonald's to grab some quick food. Made a huge mistake and bought a 6 piece nugget, thinking it would be maybe like $2. It cost $3.65 which is really sad considering I could have gotten 14 more nuggets for an extra $1.35, or I could have gotten two 6 packs of nuggets for $3. Which would have given me 12 nuggets for $3. I made a poor choice, but the second poor choice I made was eating this quick McDonald's lunch and then running 3 1/2 miles over to help Beth move into Ravenswood! Not because I didn't want to help her move in, but my stomach hurt a bit on the run, but I managed to make it there in about a 6:30 mile pace anyway.
Her new place is super cool and reminds me of Rachel's first place that she moved in Chicago in 2013. The best part of the move in day was when Austin, Christine, my Dad, Beth, Mom, Grace and the movers all helped hoist Grace's boxspring up the side of the staircase to get it into the new apartment. Woah! Congrats on moving to Chicago Beth!
After helping move everything into their new apartment, I dropped off my Mom's car at the UHaul place where my dad dropped off the truck and then I ran a quick mile home in order to get ready for the evening. Our Friendsgiving party with Rachel's friends was that night at Chris and Izzi's new place. We took an Uber over around 6pm.
Friendsgiving was great as always. Everyone made or brought something tasty to enjoy, some of the highlights being Rachel's stuffed mushrooms, Chris carving his first turkey, and Torie's homemade peach pie with a scoop of vanilla icecream. We played a few games after dinner, eventually heading out via Uber over to Phil's annual October Fest party where we met up with Adam, Brian, Meghan, Chris, Alyssa, Jessi, Zach, Wes, Chuck, Julie, Phil, Jimmy, & more friends. We continued our drinking ways, eventually getting our hands on some Maker's Mark which we indulged in neatly. We ended the night cabbing home with a pretty cool Uber driver. It was a good night.
I spent too much of the next day sleeping. Sunday November 13th was a lot of sleeping, laying around watching football, and then picking Beth and Rachel up to head to Auntie Wanda's 91st birthday party! We got to the party just as the majority of people were leaving, but we still managed to get a full plate of food and spent time with the family who stayed for a few hours. My little niece and nephews are too adorable. Check the vids.
We dropped Beth off that night back at her new place in the city and then headed to sleep.
Monday November 14 I drove Rachel to work in the morning. Then after a days work, I made a quick stop at the library and witnessed the closest Supermoon to the Earth since 1948. Looking huge as advertised. I also stopped at my parents house for some beef sandwiches for dinner. Before heading home, I stopped at work to watch the Cats put in some work. On my way back to the city 10:15p I picked up Rachel, Torie, and their friend from Yoga. Successful night.
Excited to see what the next week brings me.
