This blog will mostly be about the Foo Fighters and how bad-a$$ Dave Grohl & the Foo Fighters are. But first, Valentine's Day - It is snowing! Spent the day at the Joffrey Ballet with Rachel seeing Bold Moves. An amazing show that was topped with the final act being a japanese themed dance with music that kept you on the edge of your seat. A lovely treat thanks to my lady! We made and ate a delicious beef roast dinner with roasted potatoes for dinner, it was a delicious meal.
Song of the Week: Foo Fighters - Something From Nothing - born from the City of Chicago. The documentary on this latest album is absolutely amazing and every needs to watch it.
I have been getting into music way too much lately. Here are some of the albums you need to listen to right now!
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York
Roger Waters - The Wall
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Factory
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
David Bowie - Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
Massive Attack - Heligoland
Video of the Week: A Trip to the Moon - best to watch with a candy bag full of gummies in hand
Video of the Week #2: Tufts goes back to back and makes another top notch lacrosse documentary. Top DIII team besides the bulldogs!
Movie of the Week: Back and Forth - A Foo Fighters Documentary - A deeper look into the formation and development of the Foo Fighters to where they are now. Check this out to see how the FF got to where they are now!
TV Show of the Week: Sonic Highways. An 8 part documentary about the Foo Fighters newest album. Music is incredible and so is this documentary which hits up 8 different cities with 8 different sounds. Chicago, Washington DC, Nashville, Austin, LA, New Orleans, Seattle, and New York. Music is inspiring and it is very interesting to see how it grows, changes, and forms in different areas of the world. This makes me want to learn to play music and get into it more, if only time was infinite! Also Dave Grohl is the man. From Nirvana drummer to creating his own band vision to creating these documentaries. This documentary first aired on HBO so if you have one of those accounts you may be able find it there, otherwise check out your local library, or go all out and buy it! Such an amazing film that Rachel even sat down and enjoyed a few episodes with me. Do it!
Game of Thrones Season 1 is over. Moving quickly, love this show! Shocking turn of events to end season 1! Wahooo season 2 coming up!
