Song of the Week: Modern Jesus by Portugal. The Man. You'll have this on repeat.
Tuesday March 10th
Watched: Walking Dead & Better Call Saul. I was up until 2AM editing a lax game I had filmed over the weekend.
Wednesday March 11
Exit Through the Giftshop Documentary about street art. Highly recommended netflix film that is about some of the best street graffiti artists such as Space Invader, Banksy, as well as an unlikely artist (Mr Brainwash) who started as the man filming this "documentary." Went to sleep early.
Thursday March 12
Work, Practice. Rachel makes delicious tuna melts in the broiler. Discover what the broiler is in the oven! Heat form the top only basically! Broil away! Up until 330am editing Benu video. Finished it, here it is.
Friday March 13
Work, practice, stop over at Gio's new house. Had a few beverages, including a Tecate (from the Jcubed's famous video, see below) and some tasty peach rings I picked up from a local grocer.
Saturday March 14
Wake up early and watch the movie Short Term 12. Review of the movie below as it is the movie of the week! Work and get a mcchicken delivered from Beth. Hang out with John, Rachel, & Todd that evening. We play jenga, 3 man, and watch Jcubed videos on the big screen. Rach hits the hay early since she had been out all day for St. Patty's Day. Todd, John, & I go out and meet up with their friend Debbie at Kelly's Bar. We get mcdonalds that night. 2 mcchickens for me. John asks for no cheese on his McChicken. As the McChicken spokesman, I was astonished at this amateur request he made. Ain't no cheese on McChickens. We get home around 3am.
Sunday March 15
Another McDonalds trip to start the morning, 20 nugs, a mcdouble, & fries for me. After practice, Rachel and I went on a 3 mile run along the lake, enjoying the beautiful weather. That evening, we headed over to the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder for dinner. The hostess guy seats people by faces, doesn't take names. So I am pretty sure we got bumped down a few people, but after waiting an hour we got a seat. The food was absolutely delicious! We had a tasty salad as an appetizer and then each had a 1/2 pound pizza pot pie. They put the cheese, meat, and sauce in a pot pie pan and then coat it with breading. Once it is done baking, they bring it out and flip it over. Now you have a pizza pot pie in a little bowl. Yum. We will be back!
Aunt Elaine passes that evening. I am glad I was able to spend some quality time with her just a few days prior. We remember a loving, caring, and strong willed woman who made an impression on us all. RIP.
Monday March 16
Rachel can't sleep the next morning, so we get up and walk over to the lake to see the sunrise. We count the runners since we are the only ones walking, see a dog walking a lady, and enjoy the beautiful colors as the sun rises over Chicago.
I hang out with Jmon at his place later that day. Listen to some new music he is working on. We walk in the woods, then do some skating. Jmon falls and gets durty. We play NHL 14 at his place on ps3 and watch a couple of TV shows. He gave me a sweet elephant thing that I customized into a War Elephant Deer Tick album cover. Check out the Skate 4 trailer from the day below.
I hit up jewel before practice. Beautiful sunset over the skies that evening for practice.
I watch the movie the Station Agent that evening on Netflix. Decent film about a short little man who becomes a railroad station agent. Great character development throughout. Watch it!
Video of the Week: Double Jcubed feature - Trailer for the new Skate 4 video. First skate video being produced in 8 years. And of course the classic Tecate film, El Padre de los Silly Bandz, in honor of the first Tecate I ever drank.
Movie of the Week: Short Term 12 - Brought a tear to my eye as young adolescents struggle with family issues and form relationships with those around them. Watch it on Netflix meow!
This blog was a week late because I party hard.
