Less than 2 Weeks Until I'm Married!

It is only a matter of days until Rachel and I will be married. Over the last week or so, my high school lacrosse season came to an end, many decisions were made for the wedding, and there was a lot of good lacrosse on TV.

The end of NV lax. It was a great first season as Varsity coach filled with many memories. Best of luck to all the seniors who graduated are moving on. Here is a shot from our Playoff win against St Charles North! A little revenge from a loss earlier in the season. Unfortunately our 9 game win streak came to an end in the second round of the state playoffs against the #1 seed Loyola, but it was a great run. Can't wait to return as the first 2 year coach since 2003-04 (2006-07 unofficially).

Song of the Week: Are You Serious by Andrew Bird off of his new Album Are You Serious. Reminds me a bit of Gotye, good stuff.

Fullerton Ave has been fully revamped with beach access and a beautiful green grass area with the city in the background. I look forward to making a lax trick video here later in the summer. I went a on a few runs in the past week along the lake, 4 miles one day, 9 another day. Trying to get in that wedding shape! It is closing in fast!

Rachel went on her bachelorette party this weekend down to Nashville with all of her friends. I am so happy she had an amazing time, including meeting an adorable, happy golden and country star Brett Eldredge. Although all Rachel did was ask Brett if he knew me, what a sweetheart! Best friend Sarah did an absolutely fantastic job setting it all up! Thank you for doing so :)

Over Memorial Day weekend we would like to thank all of the veterans for doing what they do, as well as appreciate some lacrosse that took place. All 4 games over the weekend were absolutely amazing. From the 2 semi-final games on Saturday, to the D3 championship on Sunday, and of course the overtime thriller D1 championship on Monday. It was an incredible weekend for lacrosse and if you didn't watch, go back and do just that! Salisbury edged out Tufts in a back and forth D3 battle while North Carolina beat Maryland in the finals for the D1 crown. Gotta love good lacrosse.

I dominated Brian in Mario Kart on Saturday night. Winning 3 out of 4 cups in Kart. Take that Brian! Mario Rules!

Oh, Rachel and I also got our Marriage license on Friday May 27th. We now have a license to wed. Watch out!

TV Show of the Week: Peaky Blinders Season 1. A pretty sweet show set in the 1800s in Europe where Gangs run the lands. Shout out to Brian for getting me into this. I was able to finally watch it this past weekend when Rachel was out on her Bachelorette party and Brian reminded me of it! Watch it on Netflix, season 3 just came out! Although I won't watch that until July!

Video of the Week: I have always been fascinated by cards and magic. Here is some fancy card shuffling by some dudes. I will never have such skills.

Only 12 days until Rachel and I get married ya'll. Get ready!

Derby Bets

Song of the Week: Not Peanut Butter Jelly Time, but Peanut Butter Jelly.

The Kentucky Derby happened the other weekend. We were celebrating Mother's Day and placed some family bets. Anna came away with the $11.36 pot! Rich girl

Cats are on an 8 game win streak heading into the playoffs! Let's do it boys!

Obviously mass amount of Wedding Planning (90% being done by Rachel) has been happening, oh and some dance lessons too! Woo Woo! Only 20 days until the big day!

After only 9 months on Waze (the GPS app) I made it into the top 1% of the state. I am officially Royalty. This is the only 1% I will ever be apart of.

Video of the Week: Double feature with a Hometown Chicago Skate company as well as our boy Jonny Fritz aka Jonny Corndawg telling his story about his running life.

Movie of the Week: I was able to watch San Andreas featuring the Rock! It was a pretty decent end of the world type of film where the San Andreas fault goes crazy and California is in for quite the shock! Watch it!

My final word is that aliens are perhaps taking over my mind. It was a late night at my parents and I was laying in bed and a annoying alien buzzing noise was coming from outside and wouldn't stop! Aliens!

Crazy Wedding happenings are going on, as well as the end of lax season. Stay tuned for 1 more blog before the wedding! Maybe two if we are lucky!

So Many Activities! Wedding Planning, Lacrosse, & More

So as soon as I looked, 3 1/2 weeks have gone by since my last blog. This will be a quick summary of what has been going on in my busy busy life. This blog will entail April 12 to May 6th of 2016!

We had a tough week of games during the first stretch of this blog, as the cats dropped 4 straight games. 2 of those coming by 1 goal, and one of those in Double OT against the number one team in state. Tough ones. Since then we have rattled off 4 straight wins and will be going for win number 5 this weekend. Oh and one of those wins included an OT buzzer beater that was played in the NV stadium. This never happened in my day! Also was able to get my hands on a pretty cute, stuffed animal like pup at the senior cookout after. Pretty cool.

I also made the local news station video with a post game interview. Check it out. Fun stuff!

For Rachel's Birthday we stopped at Red Robin in the burbs for dinner, enjoying endless fries and burgers while sitting on the patio in the warm and inviting 80 degree weather. We headed back to the city and walked over to The Second City to catch their Fool Me Twice Deja Vu show that is currently being performed. It was a hilarious show and I contributed with a song suggestion of the Thong Song and also got my iphone 4 on stage. Jamison Webb pretended to be a robot and started by saying that it looked like my phone was run over by a deer, as it looks pretty beat up after a few years of use. The went through my phone and read some hilarious texts from a friend/co-worker Conor, which had to have sounded super scripted but wasn't, read through my notes which consisted of bars/breweries to visit in Chicago with the "Okay hand sign" and "Peace sign." Also a "red x" sign on Navy Pier Ferris Wheel which they said I should just avoid all of Navy Pier. Finally he fake took a picture of his willy with my snap chat app. These pics were almost not taken, as my camera takes forever to load, but they finally did! Pics for proof!

After the show we stopped by Franks Bar for a few drinks and some dancing to end a beautiful birthday celebration night.

I had to drive up to Milwaukee to coach a few games that Sunday, but the weather was amazing so cannot complain. Rachel's Birthday celebration was on tuesday night as we chowed down on some Chinese Food. Tasty.

Let's see what else has been going on these past weeks.

We had another lovely and incredible Wedding Bridal Shower on Rachel's side at her parents house. Hosted by her Mother and Two Aunts, we had a lovely day with amazing weather that included fun bridal games, tasty food, an incredible house transformation, and delicious drinks. We cannot thank the family and friends who came and showered us with gifts enough. It was such a special day and we are so lucky to have such kind and caring families! Thank you all!

Rachel and I had our first dance lessons on Monday May 2nd! Get out ya dancing shoes, but shhh it's a secret maybe?

TV Show of the Week: I finally finished off the Twin Peaks series. Very 1990s as it was made in 90 and very bizarre ending to the show. Decent though, if you have the time and enjoy a little thriller, murder mystery, corny type of show then check it out on Netflix. Here is a screen shot from the last episode.

Movie of the Week: Fantastic Lies. The Duke Lacrosse 30 for 30 episode bringing some light on the events of the 2006 season that was ended far too early for the Blue Devils. Very cool look into a tragic season and event that ruined many of these young men's lives. A concerning time when I was headed to college for lacrosse the next year! Now on Netflix.
